Aug 2, 2018. #11. 2005 ep3 civic type r with just over 82,000 miles on it, Has been serviced by Honda up to 40,000 then a few receipts from local garages, I was hoping that the chain and tensioner would be still be alright for a bit as it is pulling really strong in vtec and only makes the noise in the morning after it's been sitting over night. I hate to ask such as basic question. I ordered a K20A swap and I was given the choice to have either a Civic Type R K20A (EP3) or a Integra Type R K20A (DC5). The shop told me they're identical, but in the FAQ's, it says the EP3 motor is rated at 212 hp while the DC5 motor is rated at 217 hp. Does anyone know what makes them different?
